An Anachronist’s Life

最近一直很忙，赶在国庆之前把该做的事多做一些。今天也只能零零碎碎地说些感想。随后的国庆假期，估计是没时间更新了，还是好好休息休息。

今天神七成功回归了。我是理工科的，从技术上来说，真是件了不起的事情。

今天看到了两篇关于奶粉事件和媒体的文章。一篇来自亚洲周刊的《神七、毒牛奶与中国的新闻监督》，在多维看到的。

简光洲无疑是最勇敢的一位记者。然而，内地传媒，包括官方传媒，然后是香港及其他境外传媒的连串追踪报道，相信才是引发政府各部门高度重视事件的一个重要原因。对於一个誓言要把人民生命安全放在第一位的政府，足够的新闻监督必不可少，而这端赖政府部门对新闻工作者必要的敬畏及尊重。然而，中国内地目前不少部门及相关官员，仍是对记者持著看风使舵的态度。……
从另一个角度看，这恰好是毒奶粉事件带给人们的一个正面信息及警示﹕一个国家的成就越大，国力越强，对人民的关爱应该更深切，否则，人民的反弹可想而知。若不把事实摊在阳光下，人民便无法也无心思分享国家的成就。

然而，南方周末的编辑Fu Jianfeng的遭遇却让人无法宽慰（New York Times也报道了这一事件）。他的记者He Feng早在7月底就已经对三鹿事件展开调查，然而因为种种原因，报道始终无法见报；甚至到9月13日（简光洲的稿子同天上报），他们的报道仍然无法通过上级的检查。毒奶粉事件公开之后，Fu先生抱着惭愧的心情，把这一切记录在他的新浪博客中，然而这篇博文却被迫删除，仅在东西南北保留了一个英文翻译；博文包括五节，我把每节的最后一句话摘录在这儿：

We could only wait, wait, wait.

We want the truth.  We want to race against time.  We want to remove the doubts about this public health matter.  This was the motivation and belief that impelled me and my colleague He Feng.

On September 14, we posted the report <The difficult path to find the cause of the kidney stones in babies> onto the Southern Weekend website and Southern Metropolis Daily.  This was small compensation because our media alert was not able to go out repeatedly.

I also want to ask just what the State Quality Supervisory Administration has to say about their negligence and cover-up?  I also want to ask the departments under the Ministry of Health how they explain their dereliction of duty?
Every person who made money by producing fake and inferior stuff thinks that he is ahead of the game, but at the same time he is also hurt by others who doing the same elsewhere.  We have lost far too heavily already.  We don’t want chaotic and unhygienic food.  We don’t want an evil-doing market economy.  We want a good market economy.  We want an ethical market economy.

中国的事情总是这样，有光明，也有黑暗。

近日，胡佳的名字又热起来了，他被提名诺贝尔和平奖。我个人同情胡佳的遭遇，但是却不认为他已经做了足够的工作，足够成为诺贝尔和平奖获得者。在我看来，这个所谓的诺贝尔和平奖已经太政治化了。其他提名人包括：

• Thich Quang Do, a Vietnamese Buddhist monk who has been fighting for religious freedom and democracy in the Communist nation；
• The Chechen human rights lawyer Lydia Yusupova is another contender（做为对俄罗斯在格俄冲突中的反应的惩罚）。

和科学方面的诺贝尔奖的崇高声誉相比，和平奖简直是象场闹剧。胡佳获得和平奖，会羞辱执政的中国共产党，对中国的总体人权完全无益，甚至还会有反作用。

关于胡佳一事，在比较大的国际媒体上，只有卫报做了题为Chinese dissident tipped to win Nobel peace prize的报道。不知道是否这个原因，卫报被GFW封锁了，做为一份英文报刊，这可是难得的待遇。

批评中国的时候，请理解中国；理解中国之后，请坚持批评中国。
